A 7-Day Korea Family Itinerary for Three Generations
· 8 min read
A week in Korea planned around strollers, teenagers and grandparents — Seoul, the DMZ and Busan, with realistic travel times and rest built in.
Days 1–3: Seoul at a gentle pace
Land at Incheon, take a private transfer and give yourselves a half day of nothing. Jet lag hits grandparents and toddlers hardest, so plan the first afternoon around your hotel neighbourhood.
Day two works well as Gyeongbokgung Palace in the morning (flat gravel, stroller friendly) followed by Bukchon Hanok Village in the late afternoon when the light is best and the crowds thin. Day three is a good slot for the DMZ, which starts early and ends by mid-afternoon.
Days 4–5: Busan by KTX
The KTX from Seoul to Busan takes two hours and forty minutes and has accessible carriages and luggage racks. Book the family seating area if you are travelling with children under six.
In Busan, split the two days into one coastal day (Haeundae, Blue Line Park) and one culture day (Gamcheon, Jagalchi). Both are easy to do from a private van with a stroller in the back.
Days 6–7: Jeju or a slow return
A one-hour flight from Busan puts you on Jeju for a final two days of coast and volcanic scenery, or you can return to Seoul for shopping and a slower goodbye.
Whichever you pick, keep the last full day light. Families consistently tell us the days they remember are the unhurried ones.
